Halloween Art Exhibit

Monday, August 24, 2009 - Salt Lake City, UT - The Utah Arts Alliance announced that they are seeking entries for submission in Salt Lake City’s First Annual Halloween Art Exhibit. The call is open to artists nationwide. All work submitted must relate to Halloween, either in historical context or contemporary interpretation.

All forms of art and craft will be considered for inclusion. Two-dimensional pieces must be framed and ready to hang. Small works, such as jewelry, must include appropriate means of display along with submission. Work not properly ready for display will not be accepted.

The Halloween Art Exhibit is a joint effort of the Utah Arts Alliance and the Underground Artists Association. The two not-for-profit organizations have been working together to produce art exhibits and performances since 2004.

Salt Lake City’s First Annual Halloween Art Exhibit will be on display at the UAA Gallery, located at 127 South Main Street, from October 6 through October 31. The celebration is open to the public.

SLC's First Annual Halloween Art Show Opens October 9


October 3, 2009 -- The Utah Arts Alliance announced today that Salt Lake City's First Annual Halloween Art Show will open next Friday, October 9, at the Utah Arts Alliance Gallery, located at 127 South Main Street. The show will run through Saturday, October 31.

The UAA Gallery will host an artists' reception Friday, October 9, from 6:00 - 9:00 p.m. The gallery will also be open the evening of October 16 for Gallery Stroll. Visit all the old haunts on Main Street, and scare up some fun as we celebrate the oldest American holiday.

Featured artists include Dallas Russell of Salt Lake City, founder of Easily Amused Goods. Dallas' art makes excellent gifts, which are intended for the frequently exuberant, the blatantly giddy, the often nostalgic and, of course, the easily amused. Also featured is Norma Jean Almodovar of Los Angeles. Jean has been a media favorite for years because she is outspoken, articulate and always involved in a new and  interesting project.  She has been interviewed on over 1,000 radio and television shows.
